roo! Framework

roo! Framework is a full-featured, compact and quick to set up framework for creating link directories, business directories, classified ad listings, jobs, article directories, recipe lists and more. Packaged as a plugin for WordPress, roo! Framework allows users to add their items to your directory based on multiple criteria.

roo! Framework uses a powerful review system and it is based on pure WordPress custom post types and taxonomies, using native WordPress comments.

roo! Framework merges 3 plugins into one compatible framework: Jobbin, Roo Classifieds and Roo Link Directory. Migration is possible from these plugins using the new Migrate tab inside roo! Settings panel.

BASIC USAGE

  • Add the [roo] shortcode in any page or post to display the framework
  • You can use the page shortcode parameter to display individual pages, for example [roo page="add"] will display only the Add Item page
  • You can use the summary shortcode – [roo page="summary"] – to display a quick summary (latest items with optional Google Maps)
  • You can use the search shortcode – [roo page="search"] – to display a search form
  • You can use the category shortcode – [roo category="My Category"] – to display a certain category
  • You can use the item shortcode – [roo item="My First Item"] – to display a certain item

FEATURED/HIGHLIGHTED ITEMS

Edit the item and add a flavour (like a post tag), for example “highlight”. Then create a ”.highlight” class in your stylesheet and add the desired style (background, border, text style).

MIGRATION

1. Jobbin Migration

If you previously used Jobbin plugin, you can now migrate to roo! Framework and switch the old custom post types to the new ones. Offer job listings on your site with Jobbin! Your users can add jobs or browse jobs apply via the suggested method. The administrator can approve/deny any job and controls publishing status.

2. Roo Classifieds Migration

If you previously used Roo Classifieds plugin, you can now migrate to roo!Framework and switch the old custom post types to the new ones. Use the framework to generate a classified ad publishing board for multiple ad types and categories. You can post the shortcode tag in any post or page. You can use the page and category shortcode parameters to display individual pages or categories. You can use the statistics widget to show your board statistics, such as ads, categories and more.

3. Roo Link Directory

If you previously used Roo Link Directory plugin, you can now migrate to roo!Framework and switch the old custom post types to the new ones. Use the framework to generate a full-featured, compact and quick to set up business link directory which allows users to add their sites or businesses based on multiple criteria. A powerful review system complements the directory.

ADVANCED USAGE

Items can be added both by administrator via the back-end form and by users via the front-end form. Filling in all text fields and textareas will make sure your items get maximum visibility. Keep your title simple and keywords rich. From the roo! Items section you can modify or delete your existing items.

Whenever an item is pending, a bubble notification will show you how many items are waiting for publishing.

You can view or edit the item before approving it, or simply delete it if it does not fit your site’s theme or is simply spammy.

You can add an unlimited number of categories and subcategories and set their desired order.

You can add an unlimited number of types and subtypes. Some example item types would be buy or sell for a classified ads board, or part-time, full-time or freelance for a job board.

Meta Data Constructor is what makes our plugin UNIQUE. No other search plugins come with such powerful and advanced features out of the box. All your searches are over—no pun intended and we really mean it!

With our plugin you can create custom metafields with simple clicks – no coding experience required; you choose how your search form(s) should be presented on your sites front end: with drop-down, checkboxes and/or range sliders.

For example you already have your own shop online, and like many you have come across other shops with very cool features and fancy search forms, with numerous options? Now you would like to see such a great form on your own site. But how could you achieve this without coding experience or paying a premium fee? Just purchase our plugin for a mere $21 and you will be able to create powerful search forms in no time, using our unique built-in Meta Data Constructor with meta fields and taxonomies. All documented with videos. Example of a big form:http://demo2.wordpress-filter.com/category/notebook-posts/

If your shop already has a lot of metafields and you want to use them: built-in meta data constructor has a great tool for it called “Reflection”. How does it works (step by steps instructions included in our comprehensive online documentation and videos)? You create a new html item via the built-in meta data constructor, for price as an example, it would be a range-slider, check checkbox Reflect value from meta key, and paste your old key in the newly enabled text area. Press Update.? All done. From now on your old meta value is also searchable thanks to our plugin! Neat.

There is a lot more you can do with our plugin of course, make sure to check the documentation and watch our videos.
